The owner of Avalon Custom Homes, LLC is CODIE SMITH. After graduation from Texas Tech University, Codie worked in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for two of the top 10 national builders (Lennar Homes and Meritage).
Starting as a Warranty Manager, Codie’s job focused on customer relations, solving homeowner issues and questions. After 6 months in this position, he was promoted, becoming Construction Manager in Plano at a subdivision with high volume building – completing and closing an average of 3 homes per month – and was named Builder of the Year in 2001.
Also in 2001, Codie was promoted to Purchasing Manager for both Lennar Divisions in Dallas and Fort Worth. In this position he negotiated prices for labor and material as well as determined new product lines and specifications that allowed the company to build more innovative, cost effective custom homes.
Codie was promoted again in 2004 to Area Construction Manager with the responsibility of overseeing 2 subdivisions. In this position, he managed 8 Construction Managers and 8 Customer Care Managers insuring that all jobs were completed on time and on or below budget – completing and closing up to 20 homes per month.
For over 12 years, under Codie’s leadership, the firms he worked for received numerous JD Power and Associates “Highest Customer Satisfaction” awards and he continues to apply the same values, knowledge and expertise he learned working for these national builders in his own custom home building firm, the business of designing and creating custom homes that make dreams come true.
